Moss Mini Skirt - part 1 - FINISHED

Friday night I finished my so much wearable muslin of the Moss Mini Skirt! HURRAY!!!

I made it out of Ikea Hildis fabric (6 euro per meter, one meter needed), since I didn’t dare to cut into my Kokka fabric before have tested the pattern at least once. And I have to admit now, I really LOVE that pattern!
Fitting: A particularly nice thing is, that the back is slightly higher and longer than the front. So there are no fitting issues with my swayback! No gapping of the waistband, no shorter hem in the back. Oh YES <3
Modifications: I made it in the smallest size, but with less seam allowance on the side seams. I’ll decide after some days of wearing, wether I should go up for a size 2 with my Kokka skirt or if there is enough ease to feel totally comfortable in the smaller size… or something in-between. Cause to be honest: I really like this quite tight fitting!
I hemmed the skirt with a bias tape to get a very narrow hem. Otherwise the circles in the bottom row would have been cut.
Sewing: It was the first time I sew a fly front zipper, a kind of closure I always avoided. So I was a bit scared, but it went SO smoothly with the instructions that came with the pattern! (But additionally there is a tutorial on the Grainline website.) All in all the pattern came together very easy, but nevertheless it looks interesting and not that easy because of its fabulous pockets and those nice style lines in the back.

(Sorry for the wrinkles, I noticed them too late…)
I’m sure this skirt will get a lot of use. And the pattern as well! <3
PS: I have to admit, that I was definitely more than inspired by this.
